The Ministry of Economy authorises the operation of the José Cabrera nuclear power plant until April 30th 2006.

2003

Enresa submits the Basic Study on strategies for dismantling of the plant.

2005

Unión Fenosa requests authorisation to operate the plant in the shutdown condition from 2006 to 2009.

2006

Enresa submits the preliminary Dismantling Plan to the Nuclear Safety Council.

The Ministry of Industry issues the authorisation for shutdown.

The definitive shutdown of the José Cabrera plant takes place on April 30th.

Initiation of spent nuclear fuel management and tasks prior to dismantling.

2008

Enresa submits the definitive Dismantling Plan to the Nuclear Safety Council.

Enresa requests authorisation for dismantling.

Submittal of the Environmental Impact Study.

Request for Authorisation under article 37 Euratom.

2009

Favourable report by the Nuclear Safety Council.

Authorisation under article 37 Euratom.

2010

Publication of the Environmental Impact Statement in the Official State Gazette (BOE).

Authorisation by the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade for the transfer of ownership to Enresa.

Municipal works and activity licence.

Transfer of ownership to Enresa and initiation of works.

2015

Completion of dismantling.
