Celebrada una nueva reunión del Comité de Información de la central nuclear José Cabrera

Comité de Información de la central nuclear José Cabrera

Almonacid de Zorita, 26 de abril de 2018.- Representantes de diferentes colectivos sociales, instituciones, alcaldes y vecinos de los municipios del entorno de la central nuclear José Cabrera han conocido el estado en el que se encuentran los trabajos de desmantelamiento que Enresa acomete en la instalación. Ha sido durante la reunión del Comité de Información de la central que se celebró ayer en el Casón Cultural “Condes de Saceda”, en Almonacid de Zorita, un encuentro anual reglamentario que ha alcanzado este año su decimonovena edición.

Durante la reunión, en la que participaron el Subdirector General de Energía Nuclear del Ministerio de Energía Turismo y Agenda Digital, José Manuel Redondo; la Alcaldesa de Almonacid de Zorita, Elena Gordón;  la Jefa de Proyecto del desmantelamiento por parte del Consejo de Seguridad Nuclear, Susana Solís; y el Director del Desmantelamiento, Manuel Ondaro, se realizó un balance de las actuaciones acometidas en la central nuclear durante los últimos doce meses. Entre ellas, destaca el avance de los trabajos de descontaminación de superficies ejecutados en los edificios de Contención y Auxiliar, que alcanzan ya el 80%, el desmontaje de los equipos y sistemas del evaporador de la planta, las pruebas desarrolladas en la planta de lavado de suelos, así como la instalación de nuevas estructuras de almacenamiento para residuos de muy baja actividad y materiales desclasificables. Además, el Director de José Cabrera avanzó algunos de los trabajos que se acometerán en los próximos meses, entre los que destaca la demolición de la chimenea de la central.

El desmantelamiento de la central nuclear José Cabrera alcanza ya el 85% de su avance. Desde el comienzo de los actuaciones de Enresa, en febrero de 2010, hasta marzo de 2018, se han generado en torno a 13.986 toneladas de materiales, de las que aproximadamente 6.138 toneladas corresponden a material convencional, 5.698 toneladas a residuos radiactivos de muy baja, baja y media actividad, y 2.150 toneladas a material desclasificable.
