The Enresa Foundation is a non profit-making beneficiary and assistance institution set up by the company in 1990.
In accordance with its Charter, the activities of the Foundation focus on the areas involved in the active management of radioactive wastes, such as those in the vicinity of the El Cabril facility (Córdoba) and the nuclear power plant in the dismantling phase, Vandellós I (Tarragona) and José Cabrera (Guadalajara).
The Foundation’s activities cover four areas:

For all its activities the Enresa Foundation pursues the participation and support of other organisations, from town councils, central government regional offices and the governments of the autonomous communities to institutions, entities, associations or groups having similar objectives and purposes.
The institution is subject to the guardianship of the Ministry of Health and Social Policy and governed by the specific legislation on foundations:

The Enresa Foundation seeks to contribute to environmental improvement and to heighten the awareness of society regarding the need for environmental protection. The activities of the Environmental Departments created at different Spanish universities constitute an instrument for the dissemination of environmental knowledge, fundamentally with regard to the treatment of wastes in general, and of radioactive wastes in particular.
