Financing

The financing system established at Enresa guarantees that future generations will not have to bear the burden of costs generated in the past.

"The financing system established at Enresa guarantees that future generations will not have to bear the burden of costs generated in the past."

Whenever a nuclear power plant, a hospital, a laboratory or an industry produces radioactive waste, Enresa undertakes responsibility for it and carries out a number of different tasks, such as its removal, transport, storage and custody. All these activities generate costs, which are to be covered by the waste producers themselves. The so-called Fund for the Financing of Activities included in the General Radioactive Waste Plan allows these expenses to be addressed and, along with the corresponding financial yield, constitutes the economic resources available to Enresa.
