El Cabril cumple 30 años de servicio público "seguro, sostenible y transparente"

El centro de almacenamiento de El Cabril cumple 30 años de servicio público "seguro, sostenible y transparente". Así lo puso de manifiesto el presidente de Enresa, José Luis Navarro, en el acto conmemorativo celebrado hoy en el Palacio de Congresos de Córdoba.

"El Cabril se ha consolidado a lo largo de estos años como la mejor solución para la gestión de estos materiales", afirmó Navarro. Tres décadas después del inicio de su actividad, explicó, el centro "sigue siendo un referente internacional como modelo de gestión", tal y como continúan atestiguando las continuas visitas técnicas internacionales que acuden para asesorarse y conocer el funcionamiento de esta instalación. Además, añadió, "no sólo soluciona un problema ambiental" gestionando residuos de muy baja, baja y media actividad de más de un millar de productores en toda España, sino que "ha sabido implicarse en el desarrollo social, cultural y económico de su entorno".

En la misma línea se expresó la directora del Centro de Almacenamiento de El Cabril, Eva Noguero que subrayó que El Cabril es una instalación que sigue siendo valorada internacionalmente "como un centro modélico, cuya concepción y tecnología lo colocan a la vanguardia de las instalaciones existentes en su género". Las garantías de seguridad y protección radiológica allí existentes tanto para sus trabajadores como para la población y el entorno natural, "están plenamente garantizadas", añadió.

La instalación de Hornachuelos comenzaba a funcionar en octubre de 1992, un año clave para la modernización y la internacionalización de España. Distintas personalidades de las instituciones, la sociedad y la propia Enresa, testigos de estos treinta años, han participado en un resumen audiovisual en el que expresan la relación que han tenido con Enresa a lo largo de estas tres décadas y que se presentó hoy en el acto conmemorativo.

También, de forma presencial la Directora General del Centro de Investigaciones Energéticas, Medioambientales y Tecnológicas, Yolanda Benito, y ex rector de la Universidad de Córdoba, Eugenio Domínguez Vilches quisieron compartir unas palabras para destacar el valor y servicio de El Cabril, felicitando a Enresa por esta trayectoria.
