El Cabril simula un incendio dentro del edificio de acondicionamiento en su ejercicio anual de emergencia

El centro de almacenamiento de residuos de baja, muy baja y media actividad de El Cabril (Córdoba), realizó hoy su el preceptivo simulacro anual, conforme a los requerimientos establecidos en su Plan de Emergencia Interior.

Según informó el Consejo de Seguridad Nuclear en un comunicado, el ejercicio se inició a las 9:11 horas con la declaración de alerta de emergencia por un incendio que habría afectado a un bidón de residuos de muy baja radiactividad que se encontraría en el edificio de acondicionamiento de residuos. Los niveles de radiación del interior del edificio han permanecido, en todo momento, similares a los registrados habitualmente.

Dentro del ejercicio, el organismo regulador ha consultado de forma permanente su estación de la Red de Estaciones Automáticas (REA) ubicada en el entorno de El Cabril, no superándose los límites establecidos en los niveles de radiación, por lo que en todo momento se ha encontrado dentro de la normalidad.

En el ejercicio se simuló la lesión de un trabajador, que fue atendido por el centro médico de la instalación verificando que no estaba contaminado, y posteriormente habría sido evacuado a un hospital de la zona.

El Consejo de Seguridad Nuclear (CSN) ha seguido de forma integral el ejercicio desde su Sala de Emergencias, realizando la supervisión de la instalación y de las actuaciones del titular para la recuperación de las condiciones de seguridad.

Durante el simulacro, el regulador ha activado de forma inmediata al equipo de retén de guardia de su Organización de Respuesta ante Emergencias.

Un suceso de esta naturaleza sería clasificado como nivel 0 en la Escala Internacional de Sucesos Nucleares y Radiológicos, dado que no comportaría impacto para los trabajadores, las personas ni el medioambiente y todos los sistemas habrían funcionado de acuerdo a lo previsto según diseño.
